Visit Shop on Main in Ooltewah!

Deanna Hancock, owner of Shop on Main in Ooltewah, Tenn., invites you to visit her new antique and vintage shop located at 5722 Main Street. Deanna opened Shop on Main Oct. 1, 2021, and is enjoying a dream come true. Deanne’s love for antiques and vintage furniture and decor has often sent her on fun excursions hunting for treasures in antique shops and estate sales. She told me her unique finds kept her busy decorating and redecorating her own home. When she found new antique pieces of furniture, she most always brought home selections of art work and decorative smalls too – some old and vintage, some new, and would move them often till she could see the visual image she was getting as she found each piece.

You can check her page on Pinterest where she often puts her vision for her selections in a room layout. Deanne has natural gift for staging beautiful spaces; she loves lots of color added to antiques and vintage. She likes to find antiques with a story, adds beautiful colors of pretty decor and vintage items, forming a great eclectic mix.

Deanna has something for everyone. She is very selective on gift items, and tries to find higher-end specialty items. She has jewelry, Hobo Handbags, Lux Candles, and Park Hill and Aromatique candles. You’ll find mugs and small knick knacks, too.

Shop on Main has approximately 2,400 square feet of antiques, gifts and decor with an expansion in the making. Once you visit Shop on Main, you will put it on your list to check often; their unique and special selections move to new homes very quickly. If you’re looking for a special piece of furniture, be sure to measure your space – height, width and depth – so you can take that special piece home with you. There’s a nice variety of bedroom sets, dining tables with hutches, end tables, writing tables, desks, armoires and other pieces in natural and finished wood. She has an eye for beautiful lamps, lanterns and chandeliers; add those to the great selection of pillows, china and everyday dishware, greenery, candles, mirrors, and beautiful large wall art and framed art. There’s fine antique sofas and a wonderful mix of chairs in all sizes and styles. Deanna looks for lots of furniture, especially large and massive pieces that are not only hard to find, but the buyer has to have that unique space to place them once they take them home. One such piece is primitive and from the Civil War Era. Oh, the stories these antiques could tell! You too, will fall in love with all the pretty things here.

Deanna was the manager of her dad’s family business, located next door, called Ooltewah Manufacturing, where they specialize in making automotive component parts for seats and seat coverings for large trucks and military vehicles. She has loved being a part of their family’s long-time business, and after some 12 years, she came up with a plan to open a retail store to sell some of her favorite finds in the antique and decor line. When the attached shop next door became available, she got the help of her dad, Jerry, her son TJ, and her friend Keith and his children to start moving all her finds and helping her to stage and decorate, and on Oct. 1, 2021, her new adventure, Shop on Main began.

Deanne said phase two of her store will be ready this spring, and she will have 8 to 10 booths available for vendors. Watch her Instagram page Shop_on_Main for the date.
