Baxter’s Mercantile Moves to New Location

Baxter’s Mercantile of Columbia owners, Phil Baxter and Scott Williams, are pleased to announce that they are now open in their new location at 808 S. Garden Street, Columbia, Tenn. Nestled in the heart of downtown Columbia, Baxter’s Mercantile of Columbia features over 40 unique shops. The new building, the historic DuBois building, spans over 6,000 square feet and two levels, and is less than one block away from the former location. Baxter’s Mercantile of Columbia is surrounded by all of the glowing historic sites well known in Columbia, and their new location is in one of the oldest buildings in downtown Columbia, Tenn. The new store location buildings date back to 1920 and 1860 respectively. At one time, this was where law offices operated for many decades, and once served as a stable and a bank in the 1800s.

Baxter’s Mercantile is most certainly a one-stop shopping experience, and those who shop here will be reminded of the senses of a mall. The store offers a large, diversified, and unique array of items. Our shops include: home decor, several clothing and accessory boutiques, antiques, personalized and handcrafted items, large selection of furniture, high quality paint selection, gourmet foods, and a maximized scale of local artists.

We would like to invite everyone to attend our grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on March 4 at 3:30 p.m. Our official grand opening will take place March 4 and 5, leading into Columbia’s famous First Friday! However, keep in mind that we are open now! Store Hours: Monday-Thursday 10-5, Friday-Saturday 10-7, Sunday 12-5. We are always open late on First Friday’s in Downtown Columbia!
