Vintiques Celebrates Four Years

Baron and Cyndi Carroll, along with their two French Bulldog mascots, Coco and Olive, invite you to visit them as they celebrate Vintiques’s four years in business in September. There will be a fall ‘junkin & pickin’ parking lot sale, and some inside sales as well. If you “like” and follow them on Facebook, they will be posting celebration dates and special sales. Four years ago, when Baron and Cyndi decided to open their own store, I don’t think they dreamed they would be as serious in buying and selling as they are today. Vintiques, located at 1201 Dellwood LN NE, just off Old Tasso Road in Cleveland, Tenn., has become one of the busiest antique, vintage, used furniture and home decor retailers in Cleveland.

Their inventory consists of a vast amount of estate items of everything imaginable that’s displayed inside and outside your home. It may have been made in 1800s, early and mid 1900s, and you might even find some things made as recent as 2020. Most weeks, the Carrolls unload two large truck loads from either individual estate purchases or buyouts from estate sale companies. They buy out estates in Cleveland, Chattanooga, Lookout Mountain, Hixson, Soddy Daisy, North Georgia, and they just got back from a large buy out in Ohio a few weeks ago. When they do estate buy outs, they have to pack up everything in that house or establishment and move it out, leaving it totally empty.

That should give you an idea of what it means when we say they have a vast, immense, or tremendous variety of antiques, vintage, mid century, primitive, traditional to modern furniture, home decor, collectibles, outdoor and garden furniture, decor and smalls in one store! Baron said, “These buy outs sometimes include building materials, plumbing items, tools, including gardening tools and lighting and bathroom fixtures. We never know from one estate to the next what might be included. Contractors often check to see what we have on hand, especially when working on a smaller project that doesn’t require what’s needed in building and entire house. If you are putting together an Airbandb, you need to visit Vintiques. We will have most everything you would need to decorate and set up that type small business.”

To give you an idea of where to look when you visit Vintiques, Cyndi and Baron, with Sherry assisting, set up and stage each room with certain items. They give each a name, and it gives the customer an idea where to look for particular items. They have both an Old Farmhouse and a New Farmhouse room, and these showcase many different things such as bowls, churns, cookware, rooster items, pottery and numerous kitchen and farm items. The Fall Room has lots of items in orange, gold, and green fall colors, and may include baskets, paintings, brown and gold pottery, gold dishes, etc. Cyndi said, “Our Spring Room is “All things Flowers”; if it has a flower on it, most likely it will go in our Spring Room. Our Blue & White Room is the most popular room lately, and it has lots of items from china to lamps with lots of Flow Blue and Blue Willow. This room also has some great selections of silver, including silver tea sets, serving trays, silverware, serving pieces and all in beautiful silver patterns.”

The next room is the “Bedroom” or some call it the “girlie room.” It often includes vintage clothing, hats, purses, dolls, dressers and chests, lots of smalls, delicate items; great for Victorian or shabby and chic decor. Another favorite is the Library, which has a vast amount of books – they have over 1,000 volumes! It has postcards, maps and very old paintings as well. What used to be a huge workshop is now a “Shopping Shop,” where you’ll find lots of chairs in all sizes and patterns, mirrors large and small, frames, lamps and shades, china cabinets, dressers, beds, tables, art and anything that has not found it’s temporary home yet. The “Man Cave” is just beyond, and it has everything from replicas of boats, tools, toys, wheels, antique guns, ducks, sporting memorabilia, smoking items, signs, and bottles. If a man likes it, he’ll find it here. Baron and his helper Greg keep it filled with “all things men need.” The outside has lots of project items, lawn furniture, flower pots, grills, outdoor decor, old windows, screen doors, and decor items. Don’t forget to watch their Facebook page, as they will post when they are having their huge outdoor sales.

Vintiques have wide hallways and lots to search through while shopping with plenty of room to look. There’s always unusual items and unique finds. If you fail to find what your hunting, please ask, they might can put their hands on it. If you’re looking for pieces of your china or crystal, bring in your pattern and show Cyndi. If it’s not available, she will watch for it. If the Carrolls have stepped out, leave the name of your pattern and description with Sherry, Maddie, Kathie or Donna. Baron and Cyndi wants to remind you, “We are RV friendly, so don’t hesitate if you’re traveling, you can park and spend several hours browsing, then rest and shop some more. Be sure to say hello to Coco and Olive, they love to greet you when they’re not napping. They love it when customers stop by just to say hello to them.”
