Vintage Threads

The wonderful thing about having over 70 different vendors at the Antiques, Arts, and Collectibles Mall in Shelbyville, Tenn., is that there is so much diversity! More pros come with having the difference of people. For instance, if you walk through the mall, you will be able to see it through the different items that are here to offer.

With that being said, age also plays into our diversity. One vendor that I would like to talk a little bit about is Chelsey Davis. She occupies a storefront window of ours as well! She brings many things to the mall to offer, but bleached band t-shirts is the main seller. She has named this endeavor Vintage Threads. What started as a hobby has turned into a successful business, which has provided an extra source of income. She said band T-shirts have shown her passion of music, and most that of the ’80s-’90’s era. “I love pairing vintage clothing with today’s latest’s trends”. It doesn’t stop with summer items (like the licensed band tees), because this fall, vintage bleached flannels will be showing up!

Chelsey is 27 years old and has another full time job as a master barber. The barber shop is called The Barber Parlour and at the age of 25, she became the proud owner of it. Some days are more difficult than others, as owning a business is a full time job, as well as having time to be a vendor.

When asked what she is thankful for, her response is “Thankful to God and the blessings He has shown to her throughout the years.” She also gives thanks to her mother Joyce Woodard, who is also a vendor at the mall, because without her it wouldn’t be possible. She states, “My parents have always taught me to work hard and give all the glory to God.” She also wants to give a shout out to her partner in crime “Murphy” which is her 9-month-old Aussie Doodle that’s keeps everyone on their toes!
