Rivermill Antiques Celebrates a Birthday!

Rivermill Antiques, located just outside of Maryville, Tenn., at 4618 Lamar Alexander Parkway in Walland, will soon celebrate a birthday. Owners Arthur and Debe Campbell worked and had booths for a number of years at Rivermill Antiques. Seven years ago, they leased the store on June 1st to continue the antique business that had been open there for almost 20 years. Two years ago on July 2nd, Debe and Arthur purchased the big yellow house that’s called Rivermill Antiques.

You’re invited to celebrate their store’s birthday with them on July 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and take advantage of sales, some of which will continue throughout July. They have a tent set up that will hold numerous vendors and their wares, and the vendor booths inside and outside the store will also be holding sales. There’s approximately 8,000 square feet of space inside that is packed, wall-to-ceiling with lots of antiques, vintage, collectibles and gifts. If they made it, it’s probably somewhere inside Rivermill Antiques.

A couple of the ladies specialize in china, and if you break a piece of yours, you might just find a replacement here among dozens of patterns. There’s always a nice variety of furniture including beds, dining sets, wash stands, some in tiger oak and others with marble tops. Check out the cannonball bed with cannonball on top of the headboard! Debe said she just bought a collection of oil cans from 1910 to 1930s and ‘50s, with Sinclair, Texaco, Kendall and other oil can brands. Numerous vendors have Corningware and Pyrex and have good prices, too. There’s a great selection of farm signage (some are very old) that includes Formax, Ramy Needs, Champion Choice, and Kaffa Grain Tins for feeding grain. Add to some of those rarities great vinyl selections by country and other popular music artists. If you know a toy collector, check out the vintage and antique toys while there. There’s a vendor who has tons of World War II memorabilia, and it’s all for sale. He has a lot of interesting and historical items that are a must see.

The big yellow house called Rivermill Antiques requires you give at least a couple of hours to look downstairs and upstairs, then you will want to go outside to the long porch and check out all those goodies. Next, make your way to the tent and enjoy the vendor chat and sales. It’s never boring at Rivermill Antiques, and you’ll find yourself marking your calendar for your next excursion. This shop has more than we can list, so check it out in July and I know you’ll be hooked and needing that Rivermill Antiques fix every week or month. Debe and her vendors replenish their booths weekly, and sometimes every few days. If you’re looking for something specific, ask them as that unique item you’ve been searching for as it might be hidden behind a tin or on a shelf just waiting for you.

The Campbells will be serving refreshments to celebrate you, the customers, who are the reason they have succeeded. You continue to patronize them, and they love and appreciate each of you, and the miles you travel to come back again and again. Tell them you read it in the Busy Bee Trader!
