Thousands Anticipated to Attend October City Farmhouse Pop-up Fair

The highly anticipated City Farmhouse Pop-up Fair will return to The Factory at Franklin in historic downtown Franklin, Tenn., on Oct. 20-21 to host 60+ curated vendors exhibiting a wide range of antique goods, vintage wares, jewelry and handmade selections. Designers, private collectors, Nashville celebrities, and even museum curators pepper the Pop-up Fair crowd each season, making up the thousands who flock to the event seeking those one-of-kind finds the City Farmhouse Pop-up Fair is heralded for.

Curated by Kim and David Leggett, owners of City Farmhouse, the Pop-up Fair will kick off in The Factory’s Jamison Hall, the outside Courtyard, and a Special Group Tent covering the hall parking lot on Friday, Oct. 20 with a “First Shop of the Fair” early buying event from 8 a.m. to noon.

“We’re bringing in vendors from across the country, from as far away as North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Indiana, Georgia, Alabama and more. Many are returning favorites, but we are excited to announce that we have 14 new vendors who will be showing with us for the first time,” said Kim. “Of course there is always an emphasis on American and French farmhouse wares at our fairs, but you’ll also see handmade jewelry, folk art, and more.”

The Leggett’s City Farmhouse Pop-ups have gained a reputation for their festival-like atmosphere, offering celebrity guests, entertainment, and an array of local food trucks including Puckett’s Trolley to complement the booths filled with selections spanning all eras and styles. Attendees will shop to the tunes of live music which includes local Nashville favorites.

The Fall Pop-up Fair comes on the heels of Kim Leggett’s newly released number one best selling interior design book, City Farmhouse Style. The book, which features homes from across the U.S. includes those of local celebrities, Sheryl Crow and Little Big Town’s Phillip Sweet, and wife Rebecca who authors the popular lifestyle blog, Sweet Ladi Jane.

Since 2013, the Leggetts have developed this series of pop-ups to host some of the most renowned antiques vendors from across the country, many of whom reflect the Leggetts’ trademark farmhouse modern aesthetic – now widely referred to in certain circles as “City Farmhouse style.” The pair estimates that their Pop-up Fairs have drawn upwards of 50,000 people from all over the world to the Williamson County event since its conception, and there’s no indication of its popularity slowing down.

“Our Fairs give shoppers an opportunity to pick from unique items that have been ‘hand-picked’ from all over the country, and from vendors who we have personally formed friendships with,” Kim said. “We’ve seen these pop-ups grow in popularity largely because of how the festival-goers are inspired at the event – by the creativity seen in booth styling, in the conversations they may have with vendors, and by forming relationships with other shoppers at the show.”

Kim and David’s “picking” status and signature style has earned them celebrity clients and credits in major national publications, from Country Living, Romantic Country, Southern Living and Garden & Gun to Flea Market Style. You never know who you might see among the crowd – in November 2015, Sheryl Crow acted as an event vendor, donating $20,000 of proceeds to the World Food Program U.S.A. Crow, who is a personal fan of City Farmhouse, is one of many Nashville stars that has been spotted shopping the pop-up grounds over the years.
