The Mulberry House


Loudon, Tenn., welcomed the opening of The Mulberry House in September of 2015. The shop is inside of the beautiful blue two-story house at 506 Mulberry Street. The owner Deborah Taylor is very excited about her first store, and invites everyone to come and browse her shop filled with fine furnishings, antiques and gifts. Deborah had a vision as soon as she saw the house on Mulberry Street, and has a wonderful start of making it come true. She hopes to provide an alternative to traveling the distance to Knoxville when you can shop right at home if you live in the Loudon area. If you like to shop in small historic towns, you’ll be in the right place.


Deborah specializes in fine quality and upscale furniture and antiques, framed artwork, glassware and other accessories. She also has some special gift items that are fitting for any occasion; gifts such as linen table runners, kitchen towels, candles, jewelry, jams, Aromatique potpourri and candles, pillows, and throws, some celebrating Loudon, which make excellent gifts.

Also located upstairs with Deborah’s selections are special pieces provided by the Painted Cottage; and these items are trendy selections by the owner Jackie Vance. Jackie specializes in painted and repurposed furniture and wood items. She has several booths upstairs and keeps a unique selection that doesn’t stay long, giving Jackie another space for another piece she has waiting.

Deborah also carries some photo art by local artist/photographer, Larry Lane. Larry’s amazing photographs are of many local and mountain scenes in Southeast Tennessee. They make perfect gifts for those who love the history and scenery of Tennessee.

Deborah always has a variety of flavors of coffee ready to greet you, and bakery items are available for purchase to eat as you shop or to take with you. They’re made fresh for The Mulberry House by another Loudon business called MandyCakes.

Since Deborah moved from Alabama to the Maryville, Tenn., area a number of years ago, she too fell in love with the quaintness and the friendliness of historic Loudon. She is located one block south of the square and across from The General Store, one of The Busy Bee’s long-time faithful customers.
