The District Antique Market and Vintage Sale

The District Antique Market and Vintage Sale is located 11 miles south of Cookeville, Tenn., among the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee, in what is commonly known as the “8th District” of Putnam Country. The district is steeped in rich Tennessee history and folklore. Prior to the industrial age, the district was a hub for the now very sought after Tennessee pottery. The district is endearingly referred to by locals as “The Bloody 8th.” This nickname is now the most frequently attributed to dubious tales of local feuding. However, and most patriotically, the Bloody 8th was genuinely named for the high number of local young men called off to war, who never returned home from battle.

While the venue for The District Sale is a barn, it is not to be confused with the, now popular, barn sales. We aim to target serious collectors, as well as a new market of young buyers from all over the Upper Cumberland area and surrounding states, by offering fresh vintage pieces and collectables, and quality antiques. The barn is newly constructed with level floors, ample parking, and is a clean, well-lit environment. Pictures of the property can be seen on www.facebook.com/districtantiquemarket. The event will continue rain or shine. All booths, except food trucks or advertisers, will be stocked primarily with items dating 25 years or older, including, but not limited to, quality antique furniture, primitive and country furniture, vintage/antique jewelry, linens, signs, quilts, vintage and collectables, accents, galvanized items, zglassware, architectural salvage, repurposed and high quality artisan crafts, just to name a few. You can call Vintage Rose at 931-520-6365, for more information about the sale or about becoming a vendor.
