berry-basket-1October is a very busy time of the year, with so many things to do and plan for the fall. The first Saturday, Oct. 1, is the Annual Sparta Million Dollar Mile Yard Sale. It is town wide, with around 700 yard sales in a one-mile area. Along Hwy. 70, locally known as Bockman Way, you are sure to find some treasures. The Berry Basket in Sparta is celebrating five years in business in October. They will have a parking lot full of yard sales, and you never know what great deals you will find inside. Five years ago the dream of owning her own shop became a reality as Renee’ Dunsmore found a great location on the corner of South Wilson and Bockman Way. From the outside, the shop may not appear to be a country primitive home décor store, but when you walk inside, you will be amazed at the great selection of merchandise you will find. You may have to stay awhile and make several rounds to see everything that is packed into this small shop.

Yes, The Berry Basket has berries and baskets, but the selection doesn’t stop there. You will find hand-picked antique, vintage or shabby style items and furniture. Lights, lamps, wreaths, signs, prints, barn stars, placemats, jute products and the all time favorite Swan Creek Candles that smell and burn so fabulous. The Berry Basket will have a store wide SALE-ebration Oct. 13-15 with drawings and freebies. The 3-day SALE-ebration is to show each customer and friend how much they are appreciated for helping make this dream a reality. The Berry Basket is located at 109 S. Wilson St., Sparta, TN. 38583.
