Marketville and Car Show in Warren County

June 30, 2014 in Editorials

Clean out your attic, basement or just get rid of that stuff you no longer need at the Southern Standard’s Fourth Annual Marketville and Car Show. On July 19 at the Warren County Fairgrounds, the Standard will host a yard sale/craft fair from 7-3. We are excited about offering this event, which will include yard sale participants as well as arts and crafts, and merchandise representatives. This one-day event will let you offer items to several thousand people.

Our annual car show will kick off at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 3. Car show registration will begin at 8 a.m. Cost $20 day of event, which includes a dash plaque. Register by July 11 for just $15. Marketville will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang with a special car show sponsored by Kidd Ford. Kidd Ford has secured the premier unveiling in the state of Tennessee for the 2015 Mustang at this year’s event. Very few have seen the 2015 Mustang, so this is a very special addition to our car show.

Last year we had 105 craft and food vendors at Marketville, and 90 cars to participate in the car show. Over 3,500 people came through the gates, which is free to the public. There will be music throughout the day, a cornhole contest, martial arts demonstration and a petting zoo featuring a 20-foot python, along with door prizes. Authors from across the Mid-State will be on hand to promote and discuss their new books.

Craft and yard sale booths are $30. Your booth space will be 12×12 foot and marked for easy set-up. Electricity will be available to the first 26 booths that request electricity for an additional $5. Food booths are available with a limited number of booths for $50, which includes electricity. Early set up on Friday, July 18 from 4:30-7p.m. Saturday set up will be from 5:30-7 a.m. with gates open to the public at 8 a.m. You must provide the necessary supplies for your space: tables, extension cords, etc. For more information contact Holly Cantrell or Dale Stubblefield at the Southern Standard, 931-473-2191. Entry deadline: July 11, 2014.
