Main Street Sweetwater

The third Thursday, Dec. 17, Main Street Sweetwater invites you to shop late in their amazing small town. The shops in Historic Downtown Sweetwater will stay open till 8 p.m. on Dec. 17, and there will be some special treats as well. Bring the children to talk with Santa and have pictures made, too. There’ll be live music and food vendors and an atmosphere of warmth and celebration throughout the downtown.

This will be a good time to visit all the shops for that last minute Christmas shopping. The Gallery on Main is a great place to find those one-of-a-kind gifts; the local art featured at the Gallery on Main is exceptional! Anyone would be honored to have any piece you select from their award winning artists.

There are a number of antiques shops, and all offer a different venue of the unique and fine quality. You’ll find everything from furniture, primitives, architectural, shabby to repurposed, painted to smalls and very collectible, and home décor. Antique shopping is a must at Antiques at the Mill, Bobby Todd Antiques, Cones Cupboard, Cooney’s Corner, Main Street Antique Mall, Picket Fence Gallery, Robin’s Nest, and 3 Sister Studio & Design. 3 Sister Studio & Design is the newest shop to the downtown. Owners Rose Queen and Brenda Richtor offer antiques, gifts and home décor, as well as ladies personal accessories such as jewelry and purses.

Back in Time Café and Bakery offers numerous pies and cake selections made for pick-up for your Christmas holiday desserts. Call those orders in by Friday, Dec. 18 and ask for pick-up location.

Hunter’s Bakery and Café is open Monday through Thursday 11 to 4, Friday 11 to 8, and Saturdays 11 till 5. They have offered casual to elegant dining in a nostalgic building at the corner of Main and Morris Street since 2001. Hunter’s has been serving an exceptional tasty lunch menu daily and an amazing delectable dinner entrees made from many family recipes, as well as some of their own creations every Friday till 8 p.m. and Saturdays till 5 p.m. Their bakery is filled daily and most days sells out early.

Several of the downtown shops have moved a short distance from their prior location. Cones Cupboard has moved across the street and is now located at 307 N. Main St., next door to Bobby Todd Antiques. Only the Best Boutique and Consignment has moved right next door to Cones Cupboards former location; address is now 105 Morris St. DogWood Lane – A New York Style Boutique, has moved from behind Hunters Café and now located between Only the Best and the Gallery on Main. Kelly’s new address for DogWood Lane is 107 Morris Street. All these shops that have moved have a new look and for some, more space. They have all worked very hard the past few months getting their locations ready, then making the move and re-staging and merchandising their inventory. They are excited to be welcome you to their new locations.

All the stores in the downtown shopping district are ready for lots of fun and Christmas celebrating on Third Thursday, Dec. 17. Their annual Small Town Christmas always takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving. They invite you to visit them and to like their shops on FaceBook.
