Leiper’s Fork

Enjoy great bargains, great food and great family fun at the Leiper’s Fork Yard Sale on October 10-12. The Leiper’s Fork Yard Sale is a Fund Raising event for the Leiper’s Fork & surrounding community. The proceeds from this event will be placed in the Leiper’s Fork Community Fund & are allocated to people in the community as needed. This includes utility bills, groceries & presents for children at Christmas time for families that need a helping hand. The fund also helps generate free events in the Leiper’s Fork Village.

Beginning this year, this event will take place in Preston Field on the East end of Leiper’s Fork. This field is across the street from the home of Marty and Bruce Hunt, just before you reach Historic Downtown Leiper’s Fork. Just look for the General Lee and Mayberry Sheriff’s car.

If you have never been here before, Bruce & Marty Hunt own a beautifully restored home in a cool spot across the street from the current location – as in a really cool, down home, front-porch livin’ kind of place to hang, and with shady spots under the big old oak trees.

Bruce & Marty have hosted the yard sale in their yard from the beginning, but are finally ready to hand the reins over to some of the other members of the community. 2014 marks the year that Joe Waddell & Lavana Deal begin the task of stepping into the new roles of primary planners/coordinators for this event, & they are keeping it as close to Bruce & Marty as possible. Bruce & Marty will still be there to help plan & coordinate the event as well as meet & greet the vendors and the patrons.

There are expected to be over 125 dealers set up at the yard sale. You can set up a booth and sell your stuff too. If you are interested in setting up at the yard sale, please visit www.leipersforktnyardsale.com. Vendors must provide their own pop-up tent in case it rains and your own tables and chairs. The cost is $75.00 for a regular size booth for 3 days which helps cover the cost of port-a-lets and a security guard for night time watch.
