Grinder’s Switch Music & Arts Festival

One of the early signs that fall is on its way is the Grinder’s Switch Music and Arts Festival in Centerville, Tenn. On the first Saturday in September, artists and musicians gather on the historic downtown square to show their latest creations and share their talents. The 22-year-old festival is coordinated by the Hickman County Chamber of Commerce and President Jane Ambrose Herron believes that this year will be its best. “We are so excited about the quality of the exhibitors that are going to be at this year’s festival.” says Herron, “there are going to be a very creative group of artisans with a wide variety of crafts.”

Another thing that is different for this year’s festival is the antique vendors that will set up in the courthouse. The mini antique fair is a preview of a larger annual Antique Fair that the chamber hopes to hold annually once the Courthouse Cultural Center is complete. Arts and antiques aren’t the only things at the festival. Music will be heard on the square all day and into the night as a talented lineup of musicians takes the stage to entertain the crowd. Children will have plenty of things to entertain them as well in the special kid’s area set up just for them. And of course it wouldn’t be a festival without great food vendors all around the square. The 22^nd Annual Grinder’s Switch Music and Arts Festival is Saturday, Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. and admission is free.
