Centerville Store Plans Two-Week Birthday Bash

As Korie Cochran plans a birthday party for her Centerville antique store, she takes a moment to look back. “It is hard to believe that it has been six years since I opened my doors,” she says, “it has been such an amazing experience, and so much fun!” On April 15, 2010 the Centerville Marketplace opened for business in a small space on the Centerville Square. “I think we knew on the first day that we were going to need a bigger store,” Korie says with a laugh. So to celebrate her first birthday she and her vendors created an interesting parade on the historic square as they carried boxes and toted cabinets and shelves five doors down to a larger space that once was a furniture store.

Since then, she has filled three floors with more than 50 vendors who offer everything from artisan crafts to fine antiques. To celebrate her birthday, Korie is planning a two-week party, “One day isn’t enough to say thank you for six great years,” she says! Customer Appreciation Days will run April 1-15. There will be sales throughout the store’s three floors. A special “Meet the Vendors” event is planned for Friday, April 8 from 5-7 p.m. to give vendors a chance to meet their customers and say thank you in person. Korie encourages everyone to keep track of the two-week party on her Centerville Marketplace Facebook page. “You don’t want to miss a minute of the fun,” she says! The Centerville Marketplace is open Tuesday–Friday from 9:30-4:30 and Saturdays from 10:30–2:30. For more information call 931-729-4800.
