An Ode to Dads, Gotta Love Em

May 24, 2015 in Editorials

Dads are like jelly beans; they come in all different flavors and colors, but they are all special in their own way.

Dads will take you fishing and teach you how to bait a hook with a wiggly night crawler.

Dads will play catch with you when he would really rather watch the Braves on television, knowing that his love of the game came from his Dad and those games of “pepper” in the backyard.

Dads will show you how to put a Holley Carburetor on that 71 Dodge Dart you and he have been rebuilding in the workshop next to the barn.

Dad’s will glue the arm back on your Madame Alexander Doll, or sit and hold you while you cry over that first cute boy with freckles who decided he liked that curly haired girl better.

So how do you show your Dad that you remember? How do you let him know that his approval has always been the thing you desire the most and how a look of disappointment from him can make you want to run away and hide.

Come in to Antiques, Art and Collectibles in Shelbyville, TN and let us help you find something really special this year: some old tools, vintage coins, wonderful books, and many other items that say I Love You Dad, and I always will.
